Why 'they' boycott Durban II...

Yesterday my entry was about the 2nd world conference on anti racism. I did mentioned about few super power decided not to attend the conference and boycott it. On the first day of conference, this is what happen (view the video below). What President Ahamdinejad has mentioned I think is part of the facts and also history. But why they are so offensive? Is it because the remarks made by Ahmadinejad. By the way, I solute the Iranian President for being firm enough to critics all parties that contribute to the racist world. To critic racism is one way of being anti racism...however to allow racism you may not accept anti racism critics.

Durban Conference 2009 - What a shame

Initiated in 2001, this conference which strongly supported by United Nation was established to against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. The first conference that held in South Africa has contributed to 2001 Durban Declaration. The 61 pages document loaded with 219 statements or declaration which covered wide range of issues and problems globally was due to reaffirming in the 2nd conference schedule from 20-24 April 2009. Unfortunately because of unsuccessfully pushing for changes to the wording of a draft declaration upholding anti-Semitic remarks, super power such as America, Israel, Canada, Italy, Netherland and even Australia decide to boycott the conference this time. Just because of very little portion of the anti-Semitic remarks these ‘big brothers’ showing their childishness demanding their little brothers to make them happier. Indeed, if they really committed to agenda of anti racism and things related to that philosophy, why must there should be special exemption to one or two racist government, institution, ethnic or nation. If Ahmadnijed is so willing to attend despite knowing strong criticism will be bombarded to him, why these ‘big brother’ can’t be gentleman? What the shame those countries boycott this significant conference…

Antara Kabinet Baru & Lama

Satu noktah [ . ] adakalanya sarat penuh makna, apatah lagi jika sebuah foto. Ramai yang bertanya, antara kabinet lama dan baru yang mana lebih baik. Memandangkan kedua-duanya berfungsi untuk berbakti kepada seisi rumah, maka sama ada baru atau lama yang penting ialah kabinet itu bersih, berfungsi dengan baik dan lebih penting kita boleh gunakannya untuk faedah kita. Apa guna cantik...mahal...tetapi tak berguna atau menyusahkan kita.

* Pengertian adalah hak individu manakala makna adalah hak penyampai.

Terima Kasih Pak Lah

Agak terlalu lama tiada nukilan di blog ini. Semuanya gara-gara kesibukan menyiapkan beberapa tulisan akademik yang tidak jemu dituntut dari seorang yang bergelar pelajar. Biar apa pun, hari ini (tarikh/angka yang signifikan kepada Tun Abdullah) terasa ingin dicoretkan ucapan TERIMA KASIH kepada bekas Perdana Menteri Malaysia ke-5...Pak Lah...Abdullah Badawi. Berbanding dengan bekas Perdana Menteri paling lama Malaysia... Dr. Mahathir, Pak Lah lebih aku kenali dulu. Masa kecil-kecil dahulu khususnya bila balik kampung ziarah nenek, ayah aku pasti tak putus tunjuk dan sebut nama Pak Lah. Ini kerana ayah aku adalah anak jati Lahar Kepar...kampung sebelah dengan rumah keluarga Pak Lah di Kepala Batas, Seberang Perai Pulau Pinang. Malah sebelum Anwar Ibrahim dijulang oleh Mahathir, Pak Lah merupakan nama besar dalam politik Melayu Pulau Pinang dan Malaysia.

Sebagai anak jati Pulau Pinang dan sebagai rakyat Malaysia, walaupun aku agak kurang senang dengan politik Pak Lah dari segi kepimpinan negara, malah tak pernah aku minta apa-apa atau projek walaupun dia 'sekampung' dengan ayah aku, dengan ikhlas diucapkan Terima Kasih dan selamat meneruskan bulan madu dengan Tun Jeanne. Sebagai tatapan dan kenangan detik-detik terakhir sebagai PM Malaysia, dipamerkan foto yang disiarkan oleh surat khabar berpengaruh di bumi kangaroo ini...'The Australian' bertarikh 2 Mac 2009.
